Private Tennis Lessons in Cumming, GA

Forsyth County has more public tennis than anywhere else in north Georgia, and a junior pipeline to match.

The courts

Public tennis courts in Cumming, and what each is like. Every municipality sets its own rules on instruction, so we agree a location that works for both of us when you book.

Fowler Park tennis courts

The largest public tennis facility in Forsyth County, and the only one nearby where pickleball has its own dedicated courts rather than sharing lines with tennis. Twelve courts means you can usually find one free on a weeknight.

Coaching in Cumming

Forsyth County has a deep junior pipeline and a lot of adults who picked the game up late and got serious about it. Those two groups need very different things from a coach, and I coach them differently. Juniors here are often playing UTR and school tennis at the same time, which means the technical work has to survive a competitive schedule rather than wait for the off-season. Adults who came to tennis in their thirties or forties usually arrive with one or two strokes that work and one that quietly loses them matches. Both problems are fixable, and both start the same way: a free assessment where I watch you play and tell you exactly what I see. Forsyth sits in USTA Atlanta's league territory rather than the northeast Georgia association, so if you are moving up from Hall or Dawson county your league registration changes with you. A small thing, but it catches people out every season. Forsyth also runs its courts on a reservation system through the county, so the busiest evenings are genuinely bookable rather than a scramble.

Questions

Where will my lesson take place?

We agree that when you book, based on what is convenient for you. Forsyth has more public court capacity than any county nearby, so there are usually options.

Do you coach juniors in Forsyth County schools?

Yes. A lot of my junior work is with players balancing school tennis and UTR events, where the technical work has to hold up during a competitive season.
